I am Marco Arnone, an MTB Instructor certified by the Italian Federation and a Cycling Tour Guide registered with the Piemonte College. The allure of the Maritime Alps and the untouched landscapes between France and Liguria have fueled my passion for two wheels, inspiring me to seek out the best routes filled with epic climbs and descents, where I can feel the bike glide along breathtaking trails. Over time, my enthusiasm for MTB has led me to build a wealth of experience, pushing me far beyond the mountains of home. Sharing landscapes, full days of riding, and the comfort of an alpine lodge—always accompanied by good local cuisine and a refreshing cold beer—is truly the perfect way to introduce people to the beauty of the mountains and MTB cycling. So, let's go & full gas!
Travel program
Day 1: CASTELLO - AGNELLO - CASTELLO
🚴♂️ KM: 20 ⬆️ D+: 250 ⬇️ D-: 1400
Meeting in Cuneo, loading luggage and bikes onto the transfer towards Castello - Rifugio Alevè (or another accommodation depending on participants). Room allocation, bike check, and a short ride to explore the valley. Arrival at the refuge: dinner, overnight stay, breakfast.
Day 2: CASTELLO - FAUNIERA
🚴♂️ KM: 65 ⬆️ D+: 1250 ⬇️ D-: 3900
Early morning wake-up, breakfast, and departure by bike. A thrilling day of riding in the presence of the "King of Stone," through larch forests and alpine ridges. Arrival at Rifugio Fauniera: dinner, overnight stay, breakfast.
Day 3: FAUNIERA - LIMONE P.
🚴♂️ KM: 60 ⬆️ D+: 1600 ⬇️ D-: 3840
Early morning wake-up, breakfast, and departure by bike. A day of all-mountain riding over alpine passes at 2,500 meters altitude, with adrenaline-filled descents on single tracks and well-maintained trails. Arrival in Limone Piemonte, accommodation in a facility: overnight stay, dinner, and breakfast.
Day 4: LIMONE PIEMONTE - LA BRIGUE
🚴♂️ KM: 50 ⬆️ D+: 1600 ⬇️ D-: 2800
Early morning wake-up, breakfast, and departure by bike. Transfer to Colle di Tenda, where we mount our bikes and enter French territory. Descent on single tracks over rocky terrain and through larch forests. Arrival and accommodation in La Brigue.
Day 5: LA BRIGUE - DOLCEACQUA
🚴♂️ KM: 60 ⬆️ D+: 1500 ⬇️ D-: 3200
Early morning wake-up, breakfast, and departure. Climbing up to Monte Toraggio, still in alpine territory, before descending on single tracks with a sea view. Arrival in Dolceacqua and accommodation: overnight stay and breakfast.
Day 6: DOLCEACQUA - BORDIGHERA
🚴♂️ KM: 50 ⬆️ D+: 1200 ⬇️ D-: 1700
Early morning wake-up, breakfast, and departure by bike. Final climbs before descending on rocky and sandy trails leading to the sea. Arrival and return transfer to Cuneo.
