An international ski mountaineering's classic tour, that circumnavigates the Monviso, the "Re di Pietra" of the Cuneo Alps. The great rocky pyramid changes its appearance hour by hour during the path, moving from the severe shadows projected by the north wall, to the beautiful Alevè Wood's slopes, showing finally the vast and boundless panorama of Punta Losetta and Meidassa.
Travel program
A three-day tour starting and finishing in Crissolo, the mountaineering heart of Monviso. After a briefing at the Galaberna Refuge, we will start climbing the northern slopes of Monviso, a beautiful descent into the wonderful Alevé wood ending at the homonymous refuge in Pontechianale will follow. Then we will go up the grandiose Vallone di Vallanta, crossing over into France, passing through the upper Guil valley to finally return to Italy in the upper Pellice valley. The last day will bring us up to the summit of Monte Meidassa from which we will return to Crissolo with a beautiful and super panoramic descent on the "Re di Pietra".
