The great mountains stretching from the Matterhorn to Monte Rosa form the playground for this stunning and unique tour. Named by Swiss guides as a nod to Anglo-Saxon tourists, highlighting the excellent hospitality and culinary quality of the Italian mountain huts, the Spaghetti Tour offers breathtaking views—from vast glacial expanses to the lush green plains of the Po Valley and its grand lakes. The itinerary begins at Western Breithorn, crossing to its Eastern twin, then venturing among the most famous 4,000-meter peaks of the Alps: from Pollux to Castor, traversing the Lyskamm Nose and ascending to Capanna Margherita, where, fully acclimatized, you can enjoy the experience of sleeping at 4,556 meters, witnessing a spectacular sunrise, and tasting the highest-altitude pizza in Europe! Our all-inclusive package ensures a stress-free Spaghetti Tour, with all mountain hut reservations already booked and included in the price, so you can focus solely on the adventure!
Travel program
Day 1: Meeting in Breuil-Cervinia at 7:30 AM, individual equipment check, and ascent via lifts to Piccolo Cervino. This marks the official start of the Spaghetti Tour, with the climb to the first 4,000-meter peak, Western Breithorn (4165 m), to get acclimated and set the pace. A traverse descent leads to Central Breithorn (4160 m), crossing vast glaciers beneath Roccia Nera and Pollux, before reaching the welcoming Guide Val d’Ayas Hut. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Early morning wake-up and ascent to Pollux (4091 m), featuring a beautiful rocky ridge and the thrilling crossing of a steep rocky gap with the aid of a small via ferrata. After descending, the climb resumes along the North Face of Castor (4226 m), completing the traverse and crossing Colle Felik (4093 m) before descending to Rifugio Sella. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Another early start, ascending Felik Glacier and then Lys Glacier, followed by the traverse ascent of Lyskamm Nose (4272 m). After descending the southeastern side, climbers reach Balmenhorn (Cristo delle Vette, 4167 m) and Pyramid Vincent (4215 m), summiting both before descending for a well-earned rest at Capanna Gnifetti.
Day 4: Departure at dawn, ascending Lys Glacier again to traverse Corno Nero (4322 m) and the peaks Ludwigshöhe (4342 m) and Parrot (4436 m), before reaching Punta Gnifetti, home to Capanna Margherita (4556 m), the highest hut in Europe. Here, climbers enjoy a spectacular sunset over Lyskamm and an unforgettable sunrise over the Piedmont plains.
Day 5: A brief descent to Colle Gnifetti, followed by the final ascent of the Spaghetti Tour, completing the challenge with twelve 4,000-meter peaks in five days: Zumsteinspitze (4564 m), offering breathtaking views of Dufourspitze, the highest peak of the massif, and the Macugnaga Valley. Descent to Punta Indren, return via lifts to Staffal, and taxi transfer back to Breuil-Cervinia.
