A fascinating spring ski mountaineering trip among the great mountains of Kyrgyzstan: an amazing turnover of immense pine forests and high-altitude pastures and prairies, at the bottom of which an infinite number of glaciers emerge. Those lead to peaks around 4000 - 4500 meters, a good part of which is unknown! Here ski mountaineering is a real exploratory experience: you will be certainly far from trendy resorts, crowded slopes or even just tracks! The only possible encounters are with the Kyrgyz shepherds or with the hunters riding up the valleys for the first spring hunts on the back of the legendary Kyrgyz horses and with an eagle perched on their arm… The mere journey from Bishkek - capital of Kyrgyzstan - to Tamga is an experience itself: the road crosses hills between semi-desert mountains and then runs along the great Issyk Kul Lake, one of the deepest lakes in the world. The view becomes increasingly harsh among flocks of sheep and herds of horses, and small villages where even today craftsmen build yurts in wood and felt. In the background the Tien Shan mountains - Celestial Mountains – exhort travelers to exploration and ski mountaineering.

Day 1: Departure
Departure
Day 2: Transfer to Tamga
Arrive in Bishkek early in the morning; our Kyrgyz partners are waiting for us outside the airport with a private minivan, equipped with everything necessary for the trip. We therefore set off in a south-east direction towards Tamga: the village located on the shores of Lake Issyk Kul which will host us in the next few days. During the journey we will stop to visit local realities, meet the Kyrgyz shepherds who still live in semi-nomadism today and, with a little luck, the eagle hunters, living a unique experience. In the afternoon arrival in Tamga and accommodation in the guest house.
Day 3: Ski mountaineering in the Arabel valley
First day of ski mountaineering in the Arabel valley. We will dedicate time to verifying the knowledge of individual participants regarding safety and improving it within the group. dinner and overnight stay in Tamga.
Day 4: Day in the Arabel valley
Ski mountaineering day in the Arabel valley: today and in the days to come we will sail at least partly "on sight". In fact, if on the one hand the support of Sergej (responsible for on-site logistics) allows us to take advantage of some well-known itineraries in the early stages, we will enjoy exploring the area, taking the pleasure of visiting probably little-known slopes and glaciers. Dinner and overnight in Tamga.
Day 5-7: Ski mountaineering in the Arabel valley
Day of ski mountaineering in the Arabel valley. Return to Tamga in the afternoon, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8: Return to Bishkek
Day dedicated to the return from Tamga to Bishkek, with new insights into the territory and the Kyrgyz population. In the afternoon short visit to the city center. Dinner and overnight stay in the hotel.
Day 9: Return to Italy
Departure early in the morning from Bishkek and return home.
