The Lyngen Alps are a young mountain range in Norway, made of wild peaks that plunge sharply into the North Atlantic Ocean, well above the Arctic Circle.
Their extraordinary geographical exuberance has fascinated skiers for many years.
A handful of larger islands offer an abundance of powerful verticality, while an endless galaxy of smaller islands, inlets, rocks, harbors, bays, high cliffs, thin ridges, and white beaches offer thrilling views and ever-changing emotions.
Travel program
Day 1: Meet in Tromsø. Pick up rental car. Transfer and check-in at the hotel in Tromsø, dinner at your leisure.
Day 2: First excursion of the week on the northern snow. Transfer to the booked chalets, dinner at your leisure, and overnight stay.
Days 3–7: Based on the participants' technical level and the snow and weather conditions, the guides will head out each day to find the most exciting route, peak, couloir, or traverse. From classic climbs like Storgalten to more demanding glacier traverses on Tafeltinden, the Lyngen Alps offer alpine terrain that meets the sea on every side. It's a true playground for skiers, but also an enjoyable ski trip for beginners. From the highest peaks down to the beaches with skis still on—an experience only the Great North can offer. The icing on the cake? The stunning Northern Lights coloring the sky and snow-covered mountains in green. Transfer to Tromsø for the overnight stay.
Day 8: Return the rental vehicle and fly back home.
