Thanks to their location near the sea, the Sibillini Mountains are often affected by significant weather disturbances. They are a place where one can still experience a rare magic, filled with serenity and tranquility. In winter, snow transforms the steep meadows descending from the peaks into perfect slopes for ski touring enthusiasts. Here, in central Italy, skiers can find a destination that rivals more famous Alpine spots—ideal for those seeking authenticity and an adventure far from mass tourism. Since the Sibillini Mountains are part of the Apennines, the ski touring season is naturally shorter than in the Alps. However, the beauty of the landscapes, the challenge of the routes, and the warm hospitality of the locals will leave an unforgettable impression. Among the top 10 must-visit peaks are Monte Vettore, Monte Argentella, Monte Redentore, and the summit of Prato Pulito.

Travel program
Day 1: Arrival in Castelsantangelo sul Nera at the hotel "Il Navigante," dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 2: Monte Bove S (2,169 m) – Introductory tour. After a short car transfer (about 7 km), we put on our skis and ascend the slopes of the old, now-abandoned ski resort at the foot of Monte Bove. Upon reaching the summit, there are numerous descent options, with possible skinning in Val di Tenna and Passo Cattivo. Return to the hotel, dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 3: Monte Argentella (2,200 m). A classic ski touring route in the area, located just 1 km from our hotel. Monte Argentella offers various ascent and descent options on neighboring peaks (Monte Porche and Monte Palazzo Borghese), with technical difficulties classified as OS. Return to the hotel, dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 4: Monte Vettore (2,476 m). A beautiful and technically demanding tour, Monte Vettore features the Mezzi Litri Couloir on its southern slope, which we will ascend and descend. Guaranteed fun! Return to the hotel, dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 5: Monte Redentore – Cima di Prato Pulito (2,373 m). From Castelluccio, we enter Valle Santa, reach Rifugio Zilioli, and then follow the ridge to the summit of Cima di Prato Pulito. From the top, there is a stunning view of Valle di Pilato, the Castelluccio Plain, and the Laga Mountains, extending to Gran Sasso. Return to the hotel, dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 6: Monte Lieto (1,944 m). After a short car transfer (about 17 km), we put on our skis and enter Val Canatra. Following a panoramic ridge, we reach the summit of Monte Lieto, then descend a splendid south-facing slope directly to the valley entrance. Farewell, end of services, and return home.
