Nevado Copa, ski mountaineering expedition in the Peruvian Cordillera Blanca

After Snowder's first Peruvian ski mountaineering experience, which in May 2025 saw us skiing on some classics of the Cordillera Blanca (Vallunaraju, Ishinca and Pisco), here we are again with the idea of returning to Peru: the stunning mountains of the Cordillera Blanca offer the opportunity to climb at high altitude and ski excellently on mountains that are impressive even just to look at. But that's not all: the hospitality of the Andean people is wonderful, porters, arrieros and cooks are true masters at putting tourists in the best possible conditions to tackle these magnificent mountains.
From all this came the proposal for the ski mountaineering expedition to Nevado Copa, an immense glacier that from the nearly 6200 meters of the summit spreads a vast immaculate blanket, undulating and inviting.

The trip is reserved for excellent ski mountaineers, well trained and able to move confidently with ice axe and crampons, as well as ski on sometimes complex terrain and occasionally steep slopes: that said, this is a beautiful program that will take us to climb – in addition to Copa – two other peaks of nearly 6000 meters: Vallunaraju and Ishinca, and to admire the beauty, lights and colors of the Peruvian Andes.
