Travel program

• Day 1: morning arrival in Santiago, connection with domestic flight to Temuco; after car rental, transfer to Vilcun, a charming Andean town about an hour's drive away, and accommodation in a "Cabana," a typical local lodging structure. Dinner on your own.
• Day 2: first approach to ski touring on Chilean volcanoes with a trip to the imposing Volcan Llaima: a fun dirt road leads to the small ski resort that opens at 9 AM; an easy and pleasant outing, ideal for acclimatizing up to the start of the summit ridge. Then steeper (30-35 degrees) and often only accessible with crampons and ice axe; Volcan Llaima is active: at the summit, fumaroles and a spectacular crater! In the afternoon, transfer to Manzanar, arriving at the Cabanas where you'll spend the night. Dinner on your own.
• Day 3: ski touring excursion to Volcan Lonquimay; after a half-hour drive from Manzanar, you reach a charming ski resort at the foot of the volcano, where the atmosphere recalls our skiing in the '80s. Lonquimay offers a relaxed day of ski touring, with a beautiful descent to the left of the summit on sustained slopes. On the way back, numerous local spots offer good beers and local cuisine. Dinner on your own. Overnight in Manzanar.
• Day 4: transfer to Pucon and tour to Valdivia (an ancient port dating back to the exploration of these coasts) with a visit to the fish market and lunch at Cerveceria Kuntsmann, the beer of Patagonia. In the afternoon, visit to the beautiful town known as "the Chamonix of Chile" and arrival at the hotel; dinner on your own in town and overnight stay.
• Day 5: ski touring trip to the beautiful Volcan Villarica, whose summit is sometimes unreachable due to volcanic activity; on the descent, a spectacular ski run that ends with the slopes of the ski resort. Dinner on your own and overnight at the hotel in Pucon.
• Day 6: trip to the Small Shoulder of Lanin, 800 m with a pleasant ascent that initially takes place in a splendid araucaria forest followed by beautiful slopes and amazing views. During the return, it's worth stopping for lunch at Nicolas, the first place you find descending along the beautiful river valley. In the evening, return to Pucon, dinner on your own, and overnight at the hotel.
• Day 7: in the morning, transfer to Termas Geometricas, a beautiful river park with hot spring sources, immersed in a spectacular Andean forest. In the afternoon, continue to Neltume along the scenic Panguipulli road: beautiful views of Andean nature made of green meadows dotted with large lakes. Dinner on your own and overnight in Neltume.
• Day 8: ski touring trip to Volcan Mocho; this is a beautiful and panoramic excursion that culminates with a steep slope to the flat summit. Endless views and forests surround this volcano, entirely located within a private nature park. Dinner on your own and overnight in Neltume.
• Day 9: in the morning, visit to Huilo Huilo park, an interesting excursion through forests and spectacular waterfalls. In the afternoon, transfer to Los Lagos – Puyehue. Dinner on your own and overnight in Entrelagos.
• Day 10: trip to Volcan Casablanca; we are at the border with Argentina and at the gateway to Patagonia: this excursion allows you to glimpse the infinity of rounded peaks that gradually slope toward the Pacific Ocean, covered with dense forests; a unique atmosphere and very few people around give this day a special character. Dinner on your own and overnight in Entrelagos.
• Day 11: trip to Volcan Puyehue; this spectacular volcano offers the possibility of skiing inside the crater, which provides truly unique sensations! You can then put the skins back on to climb up, choose another line in the crater, or launch into the exciting descent to the valley. Lanin, Osorno, Puntiagudo, and Tronador, clearly visible from the summit, offer a breathtaking spectacle! In the afternoon, transfer to Puerto Varas.
• Day 12: we conclude the Chilean ski touring program with the ascent of Volcan Osorno, which calling spectacular is an understatement! Long and sustained slopes seem to end in the lake of the same name below, unique views extend from the Pacific to the now very close Patagonia, while the descent—savored turn after turn—makes us regret the end of this trip, surely one of the most sensational in the Snowder program!
• Day 13: Tourist visit to the island of Chiloé. This day can be used as a reserve in case the previous day's excursion to Volcan Osorno is canceled due to bad weather.
• Day 14: in the morning, return to Temuco and in the afternoon, departure for Santiago and from there, international flight.
