One of the most famous Haute Routes in the Alps, which cannot be missing from the travel notebook of those who love traveling on skis! We find ourselves on the border between Switzerland and Austria, in an area of picturesque green valleys with sparkling glaciers and peaks as a backdrop which - although they do not reach too high heights - impose themselves on the gaze with their sharp shapes. The Silvretta tour allows you to reach one of these peaks every day - including Piz Buin, also known to the layman thanks to the sun creams that adopted its name - in a completely natural way and without using ski lifts: a great way to explore these mountains in the season in which they present themselves in their most elegant guise.
Travel program
Day 1: Climb to Chamanna Tuoi
Meeting of participants in the pretty village of Guarda (possible organization of collective travel by minibus upon request of the group). After a briefing with individual equipment checks, we set off for Chamanna Tuoi (2250 m) with an altitude climb of around 600 meters. Dinner and overnight stay
Day 2: Crossing Jam Spitze - Jamtalhutte
Breakfast and departure immediately behind the refuge, climbing up wide and panoramic slopes and reaching the JamJoch (3078 m) after approximately 800 meters of altitude difference and passing the Vadret Tuoi. From here with a hundred meters on easy rocks to the summit of Jam Spitze (3156 m). From the summit you descend briefly onto the Jamtalferner glacier, and then climb up along beautiful slopes to the summit of Gems Spitze 3107 m. A long and fun descent in a grandiose environment leads to the Jamtal-Hutte (2165 m). Dinner and overnight stay. Altitude difference uphill 1250m, downhill 1350 m.
Day 3: Traverse ascent to the Dreilander Spitze
After breakfast, we set off again after about three hundred meters of altitude difference on the Jamgletscher to reach the Ochsenscharte (2960 m). After passing the depression of the hill, you climb the steep final slopes of the beautiful peak of the Dreilander Spitze 3197 m. From the summit, a magnificent descent to the Wiesbadener-Hutte (2440 m). Dinner and overnight stay. Altitude difference uphill 1030 m, downhill 700 m.
Day 4: Ascent to Piz Buin
Breakfast before dawn and departure at the first light of day to climb the Ochsentaler Gletscher up to Buinlucke and finally reach - once again with crampons on your feet - the summit of Piz Buin (3312m). You go back down to the hill and after a short descent on the glacier you go back up to the Fourcla del Cunfin (3034 m). A beautiful descent on the Swiss side allows us to overcome the Silvrettapass and then ski along the glacier of the same name, finally reaching the Silvretta Hutte 2341 m. Dinner and overnight stay. Difference in altitude 1100 m, downhill 1000 m
Day 5: Crossing Piz Fliana
The final stage of the tour takes us back to the village of Guarda thanks to the passage of the Col Rai, reached through the Silvretta Gletscher. Returning to the Silvretta Pass, you descend into the La Cudera glacier, to then reach Plan Rai: from here you can reach the summit of Piz Fliana along a spectacular ridge. The following descent takes you back to Val Tui with a beautiful descent that passes by Chamanna Tuoi, a stop on the first day of the tour. Altitude difference uphill 1100 m, downhill 1800 m
