Are you ready to ride in the Great North?
The island of Senja is located about 300 km north of the Arctic Circle, on the northwestern coast of Norway. It is the second largest island in the country and is variously known as "the magical island" or "Norway in miniature," due to the wide variety of landscapes found on the island. Here you will find deep fjords, alpine peaks and rolling terrain dotted with lakes and summits.
The highest peaks reach 1,000 m, making them excellent objectives for day trips, and many descend directly into the sea, offering breathtaking scenery. For fitter and stronger skiers, there are numerous options for traverses, linkups, and steep descents to make the days even more epic. The island also has a good road network, allowing access to even the most remote locations in about an hour from where we stay.
Travel program
Day 1: Meeting point in Tromso. Collection of rental cars. Overnight stay in a hotel in Tromso, near the airport.
Day 2: Wake up, breakfast and transfer to the island of Senja. Once on the island we will make the most of the day with a first afternoon trip: Husfjellet (632 m). Transfer and accommodation in the chalets provided. Free dinner.
Day 3: Wake up, breakfast and climb to Store Hesten (874 m). Return, relax and dinner in the Lodge.
Day 4: Wake up, breakfast and climb to Tredje Svanfjell (898 m). Return, relax and dinner in the Lodge.
Day 5: Wake up, breakfast and climb to Kvaenan (963 m). Return, relax and dinner in the Lodge.
Day 6: Wake up, breakfast and climb to Lonketind (848 m). Return, relax and dinner in the Lodge.
Day 7: Wake up, breakfast and climb to Keipen (938 m). Return to Tromso and overnight stay in a hotel near the airport.
Day 8: Return home.
