Chamonix-Zermatt: Summer Glacier Trek

Chamonix and Zermatt… the two capitals of mountaineering, two ancient mountain villages that have played a key role in alpine exploration. The first gained fame with the conquest of Mont Blanc, while the second became legendary with the first ascent of the Matterhorn.

A unique route, well known in its ski touring version, now offered as a summer trek—an opportunity to learn how to move safely in the harsh environment of high-altitude mountains and to witness firsthand the dramatic changes glaciers have undergone in recent decades.

NB: The route alternates between trails and high-altitude glaciers; participants will use an ice axe and crampons, but no climbing sections are included.
