It might sound strange to go ski mountaineering in Abruzzo, halfway between Rome and the Adriatic Sea, but the vast secluded and uncrowded mountains, the endless spaces with sea views and the hospitality of this region of Italy will literally make you fall in love! The shapely mountains of Majella do not reach the grandeur of the Alps but offer everything a demanding and well-rounded ski mountaineer seeks: great elevation gains, steep slopes, couloirs but also gentle and fun excursions with moderate gradients and a rewarding sea view once you reach the top. In short, pure enjoyment! The biodiversity and pristine environments of these mountains are protected by the Majella National Park, which hosts typical wildlife often visible even near the villages: the Abruzzo wolf and the Marsican bear add charm to a unique environment. The icing on the cake of this ski touring trip is the traditional cuisine that offers simple and genuine dishes and excellent wines! A true 5-star journey!

Travel program
DAY 1: gathering of the participants in Borgo San Dalmazzo at 8:00 AM at the Globalmountain Alpine Guides office (Palazzo Bertello, Via Boves 4), or pickup at the airport; transfer by minibus equipped with ski rack for a trip of about 8 hours to Caramanico Terme; accommodation and dinner at the Ede Hotel.
DAY 2: excursion to the majestic Monte Amaro (2793m asl) along the Rava della Giumenta Bianca, one of the classical itineraries in the Apennines.
DAY 3: transfer to Passo di Lanciano from which we will start, next to the Maielletta ski resorts, to climb to the summit of the Blockhaus which in German means "house of stones" (2145m asl). From the top, a good skiing of about 300m down to the Di Marco refuge and subsequent ascent from which the beautiful and pleasant final skiing takes place.
DAY 4: a nice end to the trip with the excursion to Monte Pescofalcone (2657m asl) passing through the Rava del Ferro, a sinuous itinerary in a Dolomitic environment that offers an exceptional view of the Majella massif and unforgettable skiing.
DAY 5: possible final short excursion to Monte Rapina (2027m asl) with descent on the broad slopes of the northern side and, at the end of the morning, departure for the return to Cuneo.
