CHAMONIX ZERMATT: The Haute Route

The Haute Route: this is the name with which the mythical traverse that leads from the Chamonix-Mont-Blanc valley to Zermatt is commonly remembered. A unique route, with great environmental, sporting and landscape value that brings you to make a real journey through the main giants of the Swiss Alps. We propose Chamonix Zermatt with a final challenge on the Breithorn, a beautiful 4000 meters mountain that seals the traverse before the long final descent to Cervinia.

Travel program

Appointment in Chatillon in Valle d'Aosta at the public bus station at 2.00 pm; shuttle bus transfer to Argentiere/Chamonix; dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 1: Ascent to the Col des Grands Montets and first spectacular skiing on the Glacier d'Argentière; then we will pass the Cols of Chardonnet and Saleina, finally descent to the Cabane du Trient: in this spectacular place we spend the night on the glaciers of Chamonix Zermatt for the first time.

Day 2: The day begins with a nice descent along the Vallon d'Arpette to Champex, followed by a short transfer by taxi to Verbier. Then ascent with lifts to the Col des Gentianes and from here, passing by the summit of Rosablanche, we will descent to the Cabane de Prafleuri for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: We will reach uphill the Col des Roux (2804 m) and then will continue with a long traverse to the Cabane de Dix (2970 m.), where we are now in the heart of the Haute Route. Dinner and overnight.

Day 4: From the Cabane de Dix, a beautiful climb to Pigne d'Arolla (3800 m.): the route is wonderful, taking place for the most part in front of the impressive east face of Mont Blanc de Cheillon, always with breathtaking landscapes on the 4000 meters mountains of Valais. A fun and always sustained descent to the vast Col de Chermotane will follow and then to the Nacamuli Refuge where we will have dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Departure at dawn for a spectacular day of ski mountaineering which will end in Zermatt, overcoming four hills and enjoying a long, wonderful final descent at the presence of the north slopes of Matterhorn and Dent d'Herens to reach Zermatt where we will have a free dinner and will stay overnight. In the evening, short walk and visit of the town.

Day 6: Thanks to the Zermatt lifts, we will go up to the Piccolo Cervino, from which we will exit on the Plateau Rosa. Last 300 meters in altitude to climb to the Western Breithorn and then a long final descent along the Ventina slopes down to Cervinia, from which we will return to our private cars.

Ski mountaineering in the Maritime Alps: Valle Stura

  •   26 - 30 March 2025
The Stura Valley: one of the most enchanting corners of the Maritime and Cottian Alps, an ideal environment for those who love ski mountaineering! In winter, the valley transforms into a true paradise for ski mountaineering!!! Thanks to its territorial conformation, this valley offers opportunities for everyone, beginners and experts, to ski on winter and spring snows with trips of varying difficulty. The ideal destination for those looking for an adventure far from mass tourism to discover still wild corners!!! The “ski de randonnée” also goes beyond the Colle della Maddalena, which remains a good alternative when the snow conditions are not optimal on the Italian side. Our choice is to base ourselves in Sambuco, at the Osteria della Pace, where, in addition to the delicious cuisine and a very varied wine list, you can relax in the hotel SPA after long ski mountaineering trips.

Monte Rosa Freeride

  •   04 - 06 January 2025
Monte Rosa is the temple of Freeride: wide lands, an infinite variety of slopes of different technical levels suitable for all, from the beginner to the steep skiing lover; modern ski lifts that allow the skier to fully enjoy the ski day. If it is true that the well-known “Monte Rosa Tour” is today partly affected by ski lifts, the modern Punta Indren lift station leads you in a short time up to an altitude of 3200 m and lets you reach the wide slopes to Gressoney (such as to Lys Valley) or to Alagna, throughout couloirs, glaciers, isolated valleys surrounded by steep sides.
